Article submission sites can be one of your best options for bringing new website traffic into your business. I have listed 30 of my favorite here, but you can easily find over 200. The sites here have been around for a while, and all have good Google PR and Alexa Traffic ratings.
Your articles need to be between 500 and 1000 words. These sites will take bigger articles, but you want to always write to the reader also. There used to be a kind of script called a “tank topper,” which referred to any article that could be read while someone was on the toilet. Essentially, this was 2-3 minutes. I still think that is a good measure for the length of an article.
Keep you content original also. Many of these sites, like Hubpages, will not allow you to submit work that has been posted elsewhere. These type of article submission sites can also have a restraint on over advertising. They want solid content.
Here are some other thoughts to keep in mind:
- Use your website keywords in your articles when you can. I also like to use long tail phrases in articles, as they lend themselves better to content.
- Keep your keyword saturation density for article submissions to 3%. You will have less issues, even though Google doesn’t typcially ding you for keyword “stuffing” til you have a saturation rate about 5%.
- Make sure your article has a signature line at the bottom. Name, a little about you, your website, how someone can reach you.
Article submission websites may also require a review of your article, prior to publishing. Just stay on top of the article submission, and get back in touch with them after a couple of weeks, if they have not added your article. Here is my list:
